Azumi Nishizawa, Piano
After graduating from the music department of Toho Gakuen Girls' High School, she studied under Jean-Marie Côté at the Conservatoire National de Paris, and then studied under Dominique Merlet at the Conservatoire de Genève. After graduating from the Conservatoire's performer course with a unanimous first prize in 2002, she moved to Madrid, Spain to study the music of Falla, and began to perform actively around the world.
Besides concert tours in Japan, he is regularly invited to music festivals and concert series around the world: Geneva Arts Society Regular Concert (Switzerland), Paris Chopin Festival organized by the French Chopin Society, Kyoto Thousand and One Nights Festival, Vicenza Spring Festival (Italy), Los Clásicos de Verano en Madrid (Spain), Torresilda Music Festival (Spain), Encuentros Falla Music Festival (Granada, Spain), Úbeda International Music and Dance Festival (Spain), Jaén Music Festival, etc. In 2008, he dedicated a classical music concert to Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kyoto for the first time since its opening, performed a "Complete Falla Recital" to inaugurate the renovated Manuel de Falla Memorial Hall in Granada, Spain, performed a "Homage to Lorca" Spanish tour, a dialogue between Lorca's poems and piano, read by Spanish actor Juan Echanove, and performed "Memories of the Alhambra" with Japanese actor Takaaki Enoki. Their concert in Rome in June 2010 was recorded and broadcast repeatedly on RAI (Italian national TV) and CANAL 10. In recognition of their active activities around the world, they received the 2010 Internet Music Festival International Goodwill Award.

As a chamber musician, he has toured Japan with the Suisse Romande Woodwind Quintet, which is made up of top players from the Suisse Romande Orchestra, performed as a duo with the Assai String Quartet and trumpeter G. Almeida, and as a Yamaha artist, he went on a concert tour of major European cities (Paris, London, Madrid, Milan, Berlin, Cologne, etc.) with saxophonist Nobuya Sugawa in 2009. He is also interested in performing Renaissance and Baroque music using period instruments, and has collaborated on the concert project of the Group Extravaganza with Baroque flutist Mariano Martin using the harpsichord.

The CDs he has released so far include "Complete Falla Piano Works" (verso, 2010), released in Spain (Record Geijutsu Semi-Special Selection), "Falla: Complete Piano Arrangements" (Record Geijutsu Special Selection) in 2012, "Albéniz: Complete Iberian Suites" (Record Geijutsu Special Selection) in 2014, "Homage to Debussy" (Record Geijutsu Semi-Special Selection) in 2019, and "Bellissimo," a compilation album of 13 Italian composers (Record Geijutsu Special Selection) in 2021.
In 2003, he appeared and performed in the film "Fukumimi" (starring Kudo Kankuro and Tanaka Kunie). In 2004, he became a part-time professor at Shanghai Normal University. Since 2006, he has been performing in concerts and master classes in various locations as an exclusive Yamaha Spain-Portugal artist. In 2022, he founded the Japan Falla Friendship Association with the aim of researching and popularizing European Latin music, especially Falla, and became its chairman. He is a Concert Imagine artist.
