Artist Profile

Mio Saito, Violin
She currently lives in Germany. She graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School after graduating from the Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School. In 2017, she moved to Germany as a recipient of the Agency for Cultural Affairs' overseas training program for emerging artists. She studied under Daniel Gäde and served as his assistant while studying there. In 2018, she passed the academy exam for the Bavarian State Opera Orchestra, and has been training as a member of the orchestra under the direction of Principal Conductor Kirill Petrenko. In 2020, she unanimously graduated with the highest marks from the Nuremberg University of Music and Performing Arts Graduate School. She is currently enrolled in the national performer qualification course at the same university.
In 2021, he will serve as assistant concertmaster of the Nuremberg State Opera Orchestra as a contracted member.
They placed 2nd in the Age-U category at the 13th Osaka International Music Competition, 1st in the 5th Tateshina Music Competition in Tokyo, 2nd in the university student category at the 7th Yokohama International Music Competition, 2nd in the 2nd Munetsugu Hall String Quartet Competition, and won the Brahms Sonata Special Award at the 26th Brahms International Music Competition. They also placed 1st in the 5th Peter Pirazzi Foundation German Music University Competition. They performed at the morning concert at Tokyo University of the Arts, and received the Doseikai Award at graduation. They are also active as a soloist, performing with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra.
He has studied under Asako Yoshikawa, Takako Yamazaki, Kazuki Sawa, Naori Tamai, and Daniel Gaede.
The instrument used is a 1779 Storioni, loaned by Hampstead Properties Ltd.
Kaori Kashimoto, Piano
Born in Osaka, currently living in Munich. Started piano from early childhood under the guidance of her mother, and continued composing alongside piano until high school. Graduated from Osaka University of Arts with four years of tuition exemption, and moved to Germany in 2013. Graduated from the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts Graduate Program with the highest score in piano and contemporary music piano. Since childhood, she has won numerous awards in domestic competitions, as well as many international competitions for solo and chamber music, and has had the opportunity to perform concerts in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. She has studied piano with Keiko Ueno, Tomoyuki Torii, Masaharu Katayama, T. Beckerer, and A. Seela, and chamber music with Wen-Xin Yang, F. Berger, and M. Hornung. Currently, he is a full-time lecturer at the Ballet Academy at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, and is a member of "Live Music Now" founded by Yehudi Menuhin, and regularly performs with members of various chamber music groups at children's facilities, hospitals, and nursing homes. He is also active in a wide range of fields, such as being the exclusive pianist for a local children's choir and guest performing as a celesta player in the Bavarian State Opera Orchestra.
